Đurić Confers with Cabo Verde’s Minister of Foreign Affairs
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Đurić met in New York, on the margins of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Communities and National Defence of the Republic of Cabo Verde Manuel Augusto Lima Amante da Rosa. On this occasion, the two Ministers signed an Agreement on the Mutual Exemption from Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic, Official and Service Passports, which will facilitate direct contacts between citizens of the two countries and contribute to the development of economic cooperation.
Đurić expressed his satisfaction with Cabo Verde’s participation in the recent commemoration of the anniversary of the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade and extended an invitation to the country’s highest officials to visit Serbia.
The Serbian Foreign Minister noted that intensified political dialogue and exchanges of visits at the high and highest levels would provide fresh impetus to the further development of overall cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Đurić thanked his interlocutor for Cabo Verde’s principled position in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
Speaking about opportunities for further cooperation, Đurić particularly highlighted the importance of cooperation in education and the “World in Serbia” programme, which serves as an important bridge between the two countries and provides young people from Cabo Verde with the opportunity to pursue their studies at universities in Serbia.
The interlocutors also noted that the forthcoming Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade would provide an excellent opportunity to showcase Cabo Verde’s economic potential to a broad international audience.
